Born in Boston Massachusetts, Avand moved at the age of two to Salt Lake City, Utah. His childhood was filled with cherished memories of biking mountain trails, hiking the foot hills, and discovering nature's most untouched essence. These blissful younger years continue to be a part of the man Avand is today, and he carries with him a strong passion for outdoors. Avand soulfully enjoys spending his down time connecting with nature either biking through the city or a finding an undiscovered trail off the beaten path.
Avand moved back to Boston where he attended Dexter School and then Boston University Academy. These institutions established a most profound academic foundation for Avand as he became immersed in not only a rigorous and demanding curriculum, but also in public speaking, school productions, and concert recitals. Impressed by Avand's depth of potential, Avand was constantly mentored by his teachers who not only nourished his intellectual growth, but also promoted his development as an articulate, compassionate, and highly responsible man. Avand's elementary and high school experiences were rich in learning and were uniquely accompanied with moral guidance such that Avand today is not only smart, sharp, and keenly insightful, but also a human being who possesses the very definition of maturity, adaptability, and reliability.
Throughout Avand's life music and art have played integral roles. The son of a consummate artist, Avand was constantly encouraged to engage his imagination and create art both visually and musically. Whether in the form of painting, drawing, or sculpting, Avand's creativity manifested itself in dramtic colors and perfectly proportioned figures. Enrolled as a student at the Museum of Fine Arts for many years, Avand's artistry took flight opening his inventive mind as he transformed clay and canvas into vivid pieces which were later displayed at the museum. Simultaneously, Avand shared a passion for music. Though sometimes resistant to the technical side of learning this instrument and inspired to arrange his own material, Avand persevered and at the age of 12 was playing such composers such as Mozart, Chopin, and Debussy fluidly and by memory. His current repertoire includes not only classical works, but also modern rock pieces and a medley of his own compositions.
Presently, Avand is a top of his class at DePaul University, while also working professionally as a full time developer for Clarity Consulting in Chicago, Illinois. His creative mind is fully engaged within this field as he brings his imagination into the visual component of his job and his love of mechanics into creating the most technically efficient products. Avand has a passion for technology and learning the intricacies of how things work. Catching him reading a scientific journal with captivated fascination is common. Avand is not content with just knowing how a mechanism or system works, but rather finds satisfaction in finding better and more effective ways of constructing and building them. A lover of gadgets, Avand is current about the latest software and technologies and upon picking up these newest devices Avand is in the know about their uses and capabilities.
